AI, one more tool
Robert Moreno has leaned on technology throughout his career: he was among the first to use video analysis when few saw its value. In that sense, artificial intelligence is a further step: it helps process information, prepare for the opponent and organise the work. But that is what it is —a tool, and a tool is neither good nor bad in itself: it depends on how you use it.
The decision, always human
What AI does not replace is the coach’s judgement: reading the group, understanding the context, managing emotions and deciding under pressure. In football, the player and people remain at the centre of everything. Technology assists; the sporting decision is made by the coach.
